The areas around Mazarron, on the shores of the Mediterranean are an ideal retirement location and are suitable for those who want to get away from it all.The area is well connected by motorways to the north and the airports of San Javier and Alicante. It’s surprisingly under developed, offering that rustic charm of rural Spain within a lovely mild climate of warmth and dry air.
Mazarron splits neatly into two. Firstly , the main town which is 10kms inland. Then a mere 10 minutes away is its port where one finds a fishing port, marina and several small harbours that support the demand for diving and sailing, such a long tradition in this coastal area.
This is not the place for those seeking karaoke bars or if you are expecting a huge nightlife or. The area is peaceful and underdeveloped with a quiet and rustic charm that belies its convenient location.
